Join our collaborative engineering team!

SMH is seeking a Licensed Civil Engineer to join our Manhattan, KS team. With over 35 years of civil engineering and land surveying expertise, we’re a trusted partner in shaping communities through innovative land development and infrastructure solutions.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and design projects related to land development, transportation infrastructure, utility systems, and stormwater solutions
• Analyze and interpret topographic and boundary survey data to inform design decisions
• Collaborate with survey crews and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution
• Communication directly with clients to assess project needs, provide updates, and deliver high-quality results
• Prepare plans, reports, and specifications that meet regulatory and client expectations

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking motivated individuals who are eager to lead, solve problems, and build strong relationships.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Kansas or the ability to obtain within 6 months
• 5-10 years of engineering experience – water/wastewater experience is a plus
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other Autodesk design tools
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without a visa sponsorship
• Valid driver’s license
